The Use of ACell Vet Bioscaffold as a Buccal and Subcutaneous Patch Following Radical Excision of a "Lumpy Jaw" Mass in a Red Kangaroo

"Kevin", a Red Kangaroo presented to Northside Veterinary Hospital 9/25/02 with "Lumpy Jaw" on its right side, suspected to be a fusobacterium infection. |

The animal was anesthetized, after which the entire infected area was surgically excised, with the incision continuing into the oral cavity. The wound area was then excised and cleaned. |

A 4-Ply layer of the ACell Vet product was sutured to the buccal mucosa using a continuous suture of 2-0 Monomend™. |

Then, a single layer of the lyophilized ACell Vet material was sutured using a continuous pattern to the subcutaneous area with 2-0 Monomend and the defect was closed. |
